Peaches and cream....

It's the "Wedding Season"...so here I am again with another commission to share with you.
This one is for a couple who were married in Central Park, New York and who are having a party here to celebrate with family and friends. I have kept the colour palette to cream and a soft peachy ivory accented with gold.
I used Craft Creations Hi-5 Pearl card in Europa Ivory to make a 7.5" square card and Gold Mirri card and a background from MCS Papercraft Library cd- vol 7 Finest Filigree. I altered the colour to suit. Both layers were cut using one of my favourite Spellbinder dies - Grand Labels One - as I just think they add a special touch to a plain card. Both layers were embossed using Spellbinder Impressabilities - Fancy Flourish and I rounded the corners of the gold layer. I used the two hearts from the cd also having changed the sizes to suit and adding the couples' names to the plain one before printing and cutting. I cut two gold flourish embellishments on my Grand Calibur using Memory Box die - La Rue Flourish - which I used as a base for the floral embellishments and for extra little swirls. The Sentiment tag was gold foiled on my Craft Dragon (first ever attempt, and it was so easy, I am delighted with the result) and then cut using Spellbinder die - Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. Some toning satin ribbon bow alongside my ever present flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts completes this creation. I do hope you like it and will leave me a comment to let me know. Thanks so much for visiting and haste ye back! Crafty hugs, Sheenagh x Source: www.craftcreations.com www.mycraftstudio.co.uk www.craftdragon.co.uk www.wildorchidcrafts.co.uk

Two hearts...One Love...

Back so soon, I hear you say...lol! I was having a day off today to draw breath between finishing yet another lot of Design Team work and starting the next which is languishing on my "To Do" shelf as we speak! However, I had this commission to get done, so guess where I've spent most of my afternoon? That'll be in my craft rom, then! Typical, isn't it, the sun is shining and I'm indoors, although I did take the fur babies out for a short jolly to the park, but I tire before they do, so it was back to work for me.
Here is what I've made...it's a Wedding Day card requested to be the colours of the Invitation, i.e. Ivory and Green...and I hope they are happy with this.
I'd love to hear your opinions, please.
Recipe:
I joined 2 A4 sheets of Europa Ivory card (Craft Creations Hi-5 Pearl range) and cut to make approx 7.5" square card. I made the main matt by colour matching in My Craft Studio graphics programme and cut it and a matt in Gold Mirri card using Spellbinders die - Grand Labels One. I then cut the gold shape in half and separated it to eek it our a bit to provide a slight border behind the green one. I printed the text in MCS on to the ivory card and cut it using Spellbinder die - Labels Twenty - and inked it with Distress Ink - Bundled Sage. The gold hearts were cut with Spellbinder die - Classic Hearts - and the overlays is cream card were cut on my GC using Memory Box die - Serafine Heart. I also cut a scrap piece of gold mirri card using a Marianne Creatable Flourish die to cut up to use among the flowers which are Ivory Tea Rose and Ivory Cherry Blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts. A pearl hatpin, green heart spray and green pearls from my crafty stash and gold initials complete the embellishments on this card. Sources:

A Milestone Celebration .....

Hello, everyone. On a brief break between DT work, I've managed to complete a couple of commissions for a Diamond Anniversary.
I hope you like them.
This first one was designed using MCS Floriography cd for the background which I recoloured as I had a notion to use the stunning crinkled edged smokey blue ribbon from my crafty stash and my Adirondack Lights - Cloudy Blue - ink pad on my Inkylicious "Special Day" stamp. I said i would stamp again soon...lol! I do so love my Craft Dragon for stamping stability and accuracy of placement...I might be hooked!
I used Spellbinder dies - Grand Scalloped Rectangles and Scalloped Rectangles - for all matts and ink brushed the text diamond with Distress Ink - Stormy Sky.
Using Silver Mirri card I cut out a Spellbinder die - Ribbon Buckles - and a Marianne Creatables flourish for embellishment with crystal sprays from Jem's Designs and Antique Blue roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. I added adhesives crystal gems to finish this design.
This second one was also designed using MCS Floriography cd for this wonderfully delicate background which was cut using Spellbinder dies- Grand Labels One - and then inked around the edges using Ditress Ink - Tattered Rose. The toning self coloured background was created in MCS graphics programme to match and this was used for two of the matts which were cut using Spellbinders dies - Grand Labels One and Beaded Squares. This time the sentiment was created in MCS graphics programme by adding text. Using a piece of the patterned background I cut flourishes using Spellbinders dies - Floral Flourishes - for embellishment along with delicate two tone pink roses from Wild Orchid Crafts. Hatpins and crystal gems from my crafty stash complete this design. For both cards I used Cryogen White card from Craft Creations Hi-5 Pearl range. SOURCES My Craft Studio from www.crafting.co.uk Stamp and ink pad from www.inkylicious.co.uk Jem's Designs from www.jemsdesigns.co.uk Wild Orchid Crafts from www.wildorchidcrafts.co.uk Card stock from www.craftcreations.com Thank you all so very much for visiting.
I'm off now to start on the next batch of samples - I may be gone some time!

A FIRST time for eveything......

Well, good evening, everyone. I'd like to share this card with you that I've made today for my Mum on Mother's Day....I'd love to know what you think of it, please.
I haven't stamped for a few years now, and certainly never with polymer or acrylic stamps, so this is a bit of a FIRST for me in several ways.
My dear hubby bought me a Craft Dragon for Valentine's Day so I set it up last night for the FIRST time to use with stamping my FIRST Inkylicious Polymer stamp and Adirondack Cranberry Ink pad. I must admit to having a few attempts before the ink settled but so far, so good!
Next I cut it using Spellbinder die - Labels Twenty - and then for the FIRST time ever, I used my new Ink Duster Blending Brush with Distress Inks - Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet - to colour the edges whilst the die was still in place. I find I am so loving this technique - where have I been...the moon?
Anyway, I then printed a background from MCS Floriography cd out twice on Cryogen White card from Craft Creations and then cropped a section in MCS graphics programme to give a matching self colour for printing on to the reverse of both background pages. I then cut the card shape using Spellbinder - Grand Labels One - once on folded card for the easel base and once again on single card for the front panel. I embossed the front panel using Spellbinders Impressabilities - Butterfly Garden - which I then sanded back lightly. I inked all edges of the card panel with Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet - to give definition.
Now I am a huge Spellbinders fan, but for the FIRST time I bought a couple of Marianne Creatable dies and a couple of delicious Memory Box dies while I was at the Hobbycrafts Show in Glasgow last Thursday, so this card gave me the perfect excuse to use the Memory Box die - La Rue Flourish - and I just adore the intricacy and fine details of it as an accent on my card. I actually wasn't too happy with the first one I cut so I cut another and then used part of the first one as an embellishment under the flower.
I printed text on a piece of the self coloured background card and cut using Spellbinder die - Fancy Tags Two - which I then ink dusted again to use as a sentiment stopper on the base of the card.
Embellishments :

White adhesive gems from crafty stash

A lovely surprise...

Imagine my surprise to be awarded this lovely accolade!
The Leibster Blog Award has been given to me by my lovely friend, Janet at
Leibster means "dearest" in German and is awarded to bloggers with less than 200 followers by their peers to acknowledge their help and support and in recognition of the inspiration they give to others.
Now, I am supposed to award this to 5 other blogs that I visit in turn and I will do this as soon as I possibly can...most of the blogs I follow have more followers and I am always rushing around trying to squeeze in some blogging...so I will have pleasure in selecting my 5 blog friends in due course.
Meantime, thank you so much, Janet. I am always pleased to think I have helped and inspired along the way.

My shiny new Craft Room....

Hello everyone on this beautiful Sunday afternoon in Ayrshire.
After a few weeks of absolute upheaval, my craft room refurb is finally finished, apart from a couple of storage trolleys for under the worktop, so I thought I'd share with you what all the fuss has been about...lol!
Hubby still has to sort his area out though, so you will see I have left him a little corner to work in...I'm generous that way...lol!
I can't wait to get back to my crafting now...
I have been told that I lead a very sanitized, compartmentalised life...whatever could they have meant? lol!
Would love your comments, as always.
Thanks for popping in. Haste ye back!
