Yesterdays' Dreams .....

Good evening, everyone.  I apologise for my somewhat lengthy absence from blogging but I hope when you read my post here, you will excuse me and understand the reason.

I am so thrilled, delighted and very excited to let you all know that some months ago I was approached by the wonderful Susan Andrews and Linda Ormsby of Jem's Designs to join their team as a cd designer.  Would I?  It's like all my dreams come true!

So I set to work and the result is that my debut cd "Yesterdays' Dreams" is launching on Create and Craft tomorrow at 12noon and 6pm in the expert hands of Susan Andrews herself.  My second one is also now completed and out for sampling as we speak with the super talented Jem's Design Team.

How amazing is that, and how fortunate am I to have been given such an amazing opportunity to expand into this where I can hopefully give something back to people who have been with me and helped me throughout the years.

I would love you to have a look at the launch tomorrow if you can and would appreciate your comments if you can spare the time.

So now you know what I've been doing!

I didn't know I could do it...do you think I have?

Thanks for popping in.

Haste ye back!

QVC MY PAPER STASH SNEAKY PEEK.....

Hello, everyone.  I have been so busy on a project that I can't yet blog about, so I'm sorry I haven't been around much in the last few weeks.  However, more of that at a later date.. . well quite soon, actually!

I'd like to share a sneaky peek of my samples for Stepahnie Weightman's show on QVC next Wednesday 24th at 2pm.

They are from a gorgeous die cut kit from My Paper Stash called Everyday Vintage Kraft which consists of sheets of toppers, tags and borders all edged with delicious gold foiling in rich vintage colours..  As you will see below, there is something for the ladies and for men, too.
These are well worth having in your crafty stash.  There are also some wonderful 12x12 kraft paper backgrounds on the show which work so well with this kit.

This kit gives you the perfact opportunity to get out your embossing folders, distress inks, perfect pearls, ribbon, cord, lace and your buttons etc, and just have fun!

I hope you like what I've done with them, and would love to have your feedback, please.

Tribute To A Seamstress.....

Here I am again...twice in one day...must be some kind of a record for me!

Anyway, I worked on making this special card most of the day yesterday so I would like to share it with you now.

Why so special...a few reasons, actually.

Mainly of course because it's for my Mum's 85th Birthday next week, but also because the top small piece of material looks exactly like that of a dress she bought back in the 50's and still has in her wardrobe.  It cost her a whole week's wages then (she was in so much trouble when she got home) ...it is still stunning but it is about a size 10, so not much hope of any of us ever getting into it!  She can't bear to part with it although she has considered taking it to some of the "retro" shops, but so far she hasn't and I'm not sure she ever will!  Finally, Mum has been tailoring and dressmaking for many years now and still attends a quilting class every second week and is busily making her Christmas panels for the family....I swear we are all running out of wall space to hang them...lol!

This is my humble tribute to a wonderful Mum whose energy at 85 puts me to shame at times and who has a busier social life than I do!

This has been designed in Craft Artist 2 Professional although I exported it to MCS to complete the text as I feel that it is easier to manipulate it there.

The artwork is from Polka Doodles "Piknix" Heavenly Garden cd.

I'd love to know what you think of my first efforts with CA2.

My latest commissions.....

Hello, my friends, I hope this finds you warm, dry and happily crafting on what is a very miserable day here in South West Scotland.  Here are a few commissions I made last month but couldn't share until now.

I'm told they were very well received, and I hope you like them, too.

The first is from Jems Designs "A Puppy's Tale" cd and was for a 50th Birthday.

The second is from a My Craft Studio "Papercraft Library" cd and was for a First Wedding Anniversary.

And the third is a Birthday card made using Jem's Designs "Whispering Wings" cd.

A few little Jems.....

Hello, everyone. Well, that's the holidays over for another year! We had wonderful weather down South and met up with family and friends during our two weeks away, but, truth be told, I am so happy to be home and getting back into my crafting! Are we crafters all like that?
Tonight I'm sharing with you my latest designs to be featured by Jem's Designs on Create and Craft yesterday. A mixed bag, so to speak, with a beautiful soft winter themed cd - "A Fantasy Winter" - and a more gutsy Gothic take on Christmas cd - "I'm Screaming Of A White Christmas". I understand the latter won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it's good that Jems cater for that genre as it is big business out there and ever-growing in popularity...no offence is intended against our very important traditional Christmas. I think it's a bit of fun!
I hope you like my work.

A Winter's Garden Oops! It looks like Blogger has eaten my second set of photos, so i'll post them separately in a minute or two. Don't you just hate that, lol? Thank you for visiting and I'll return the compliment as soon as I possibly can. Haste ye back! Crafty hugs, Sheenagh x

Wedding Bouquet.....

Good evening, everyone. I've actually had a bit of time to myself today to catch up on a commission for a Wedding Day card and gift envelope...this is me in my element!
I hope you like what I've created.
I look forward to hearing from you if you have time.
This is made using Jem's Designs "I Do" cd which you can buy at www.jemsdesigns.co.uk
It has been re-coloured in My Craft Studio graphics programme to tie in with the required theme of white and lilac.
The heart dies are new ones I bought in Doncaster from Cheery Lyn - Heart to Heart Lace Dolly - set of 4 dies, and I am pleased with the finished effect using Silver Mirri Card, white card and lilac card. They are a bit fiddly to work with but well worth a bit of patience in the end.
This is the inside to show what I've done with the gift envelope.
The verse is my own words.
Thank you for popping in and Haste ye Back!

One stamp - three cards.....

Good evening, everyone, I have eventually managed to blog after a few weeks of "heads down" on DT work which I still can't share. However, earlier this week I visited a fb friend, Karen Quackas Gallagher, who has recently extended her online fb craft company "Duck Pond Crafts" to a stall in a local indoor market in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. I just popped in to say "hello", as one does, and came away with more than I bargained for as she handed me a bag of goodies, invited me to pick a stamp, and asked me to go home and play and make some display samples for her stall.
So, bearing in mind, that I have only "rediscovered" stamping recently, thanks to my Craft Dragon, and that I am still "practising" with newly acquired Promarkers, here are 3 cards using the same stamp with different colourways for different occasions. I have also coloured the flowers and ribbon using promarker pens to match the colours.
Karen was delighted with them when I delivered them to her this morning and I would love to know what you all think of them too.
Thank You
Have A Mice Day It's A Boy
Materials:-

Duck Pond Crafts are now open 6 days Mon-Sat 10am to 5pm

Thanks so much for popping in, you are always most welcome.

Hello, my blogging friends. I have at last blogged my samples from Friday's shows on Create and Craft where the wonderful Jem's Designs launched another "first" :

This features, as the title suggests, a fairy and birthstone for each month of the year, so there are twelve divine images on here that can be used for any occasion really as the month names and stones are separate from the main images. The colours and artwork are truly stunning.
I hope you enjoy my designs.
Please leave me a comment as I really like to know what you think.

It's my "Eureka" moment...or is it?

Hello everyone! For a change it has been a lovely day here in Ayrshire - what a joy to see some sun! However, I haven't been out in it other than to take the dogs round the park, as I've been crafting today.
Some time ago I tried Promarkers and couldn't get to grips with the whole "flatness" issue, so I sold the lot! However, at Doncaster, I was tempted to try again and the lovely Nikky Hall picked the colours for me to get me started, so this is my first ever Saturated Canary digi image coloured with Promarkers.
I'm not sure about this at all, but wonder if I have got the shading right (other than her cheeks which I feel are a bit flushed!), so I would really appreciate your honest critique on this along with any tips and hints you care to share.
No need to be kind, lol!
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to your comments if you have a minute to spare.

Good afternoon, everyone, I hope you are all well and happily crafting. I returned home yesterday from a fabulous long weekend away at Summer Crafting in Doncaster. I am utterly shattered and somewhat lighter in the bank balance department, lol!, but wouldn't have missed it for the world. Crafting and shopping with friends is simply the best and I'm just about to book the hotel again for next year!
The samples I am sharing with you today are from Elegant Inspiration

which is the current 4-day deal on Create & Craft until Thursday.
If you are a member of C&C club then it's on double discount until midnight tomorrow so grab yourself a bargain if you like these exclusive commissioned images.

My Craft Studio on QVC.....

Hello, everyone, here I am again after what seems like a very long time! Initially, I was so busy with DT work that I couldn't share and then I was under the weather with what turned into a lung infection. However, as I say, here I am with some work I can share now, so I thought I'd do it tonight before I go to Summer Crafting in Doncaster on Thursday for 4 days of crafting fun. I had a wonderful time there last year so, as soon as I got home, I booked my hotel for this year and, my, how the year has flown...where did it go? I am so looking forward to meeting my lovely craft buddies again and enjoying the company of my special friend, Linda Trott.
So, to my work...these are samples for Stephanie Weightman's show on QVC in June which featured MCS Crafters' Essentials cd amongst others...I do hope you like them.
This is the inside of a leaflet fold Invitation Card (below) and the others are just a mixed selection from the show.
Thank you for popping by, and if you have a minute, a comment would be very welcome.

When Love turns to Gold.....

Good afternoon, everyone. I'm back again with a commissioned card that I've managed to get done today, despite feeling under the weather, so apologies again for lengthy absence on here as the DT work is just never-ending...not that I would have it any other way!
This a a Golden Wedding card made using the gorgeous Jem's Designs cd "I Do"
It's available from www.jemsdesigns.co.uk and is well worth adding to your library.
It's 7.5" square and I've used Craft Creations Cryogen White card from the Hi-5 Pearl range.
I imported the cd into MCS graphics programme and created a toning self-coloured background and printed both sides of 2 A4 sheets and then printed a background from the cd on another A4 sheet. This was then cut using Spellbinders die - Grand Scalloped Squares and layered onto Gold Mirri card which was cut using a larger size of the same die. I also cut the trellis using Cheery Lyn die - Lattice #2 in Gold Mirri card and a flourish using Cheery Lyn die - Fanciful Flourish in a leftover piece of the plain background card. the printed sentiment tag was cut using Spellbinders die - Fancy Tags Two, again on a leftover piece of the plain background.
The pyramage stack is from the cd.
I inked around the edges of the card, the bottom pyramage layer, the flourish, the large rose and the sentiment tag using Adirondack Earthtones - Caramel- ink pad.
I used my flower stash from Wild Orchid Crafts and gold adhesive gems to complete this design.
I do hope you like it and would welcome your comments, please.

These were for a night-time show Stephanie recorded for QVC about two weeks ago showcasing some My Craft Studio cds.
The first two are from "A Very Important Date"
which is based around Alice In Wonderland
The next two are from "Floriography"
which has beautiful floral artwork
