Hello everyone! For a change it has been a lovely day here in Ayrshire - what a joy to see some sun! However, I haven't been out in it other than to take the dogs round the park, as I've been crafting today.
Some time ago I tried Promarkers and couldn't get to grips with the whole "flatness" issue, so I sold the lot! However, at Doncaster, I was tempted to try again and the lovely Nikky Hall picked the colours for me to get me started, so this is my first ever Saturated Canary digi image coloured with Promarkers.
I'm not sure about this at all, but wonder if I have got the shading right (other than her cheeks which I feel are a bit flushed!), so I would really appreciate your honest critique on this along with any tips and hints you care to share.
No need to be kind, lol!
Thanks for visiting and I look forward to your comments if you have a minute to spare.

ReplyDeleteI think she looks wonderful Sheenagh, the rosy cheeks look fab as does the rest of her, the hair is so cool, I like the way you've shaded it.
ReplyDeleteWell done, great job! :0)x
Hi Sheenagh for a first attempt this is gorgeous! We all have to start somewhere and I think you picked up the tips from Nikky very well.

I like the way you have coloured it because it is very subtle, I can't really give you any hints or tips because I am still learning myself lol x
ReplyDeleteDear Sheen, I really like what you have done; there is shading on the dress, her hair has highlights, her skin looks beautiful; I think she just has a nice blush which is normal in a fair skin ( I still blush!) but not as prettily as this young lady!. I am probably the wrong one to ask for tips because, although I love using my promarkers, I am one of those who go for the more natural rather than the more popular airbrush finish although I admire it in others' work. I think the thing to do is to do it a lot I found I became more confident the more I did. I like promarkers because it is colours rather than codes and I always like to feel my way through what I want to achieve and the colours become more familiar. One good tip is to test yourself using only a limited amount of colours and get right down to as few as possible, one eventually, and see what you can achieve by shading rather than an array of colours. One tip I liked from Ms Hall is: if you hate where something is going walk away and when you go back the colours will have dried/settled rather than keeping at it. Another fun thing is using the same image and using different colour themes to change the mood etc. My best tip is learn to love your blender! Definitely don't give them away. Even when I don't colour with them I use them to highlight and shade on printed images I think you might find that fun. Sorry if too long Vee xx
ReplyDeleteshe looks fab hun, only advice i can give is practice, just print out a bunch of images and play with your colours, i LOVE my promarkers and im sure if you keep at it you will too, hugs x

I think it looks beautiful Sheenagh hunnie and I am so glad that you have decided to give promarkers another go, the key with promarkers is to be a little daring (It's tricky and I am still not daring enough alot of the time but I think the more you do the easier it gets) this is absolutely fantastic and I really hope you will stick with them, just keep playing and experimenting
