My Week

Hello, everyone, I'm sorry I haven't posted since last weekend, but as you will know from that post, I have been heavily involved in sample designing this past couple of weeks...not long now till you will see them on here. It's been hectic, demanding and frustrating at times as I have to fit in all the usual routine chores and mundane tasks such as cooking etc...lol! Don't we all, though? I swear, I wouldn't stop to eat if hubby didn't need feeding! As he was working nights this week, I almost did a nightshift myself on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning - called a halt at 3am! But, you know when you just want to do one more little bit to see how it's going to look...well, that was me! Most of all though, it's just been exciting and challenging, and I hope when the samples are available to upload, that you think all the work was worth it. There were times last week when I was so glad I was all snug and warm at home - what a week of weather it has been - and now, today, it's just beautiful again! Oh, I hope it lasts a while yet. I had a couple of nice parcels through the post this week...yes, you've guessed...more Spellbinders...lol! I can't wait to try them out on some commissions I'll be working on next week. I succumbed to temptation and bought the new Edgeabilities on Tuesday evening's Pick of the Day on Ideal World, along with another set of smaller dies. They are all so delicious and I am so inspiried by Sue Wilson of Creative Expressions. Her ideas just gel with me. We have the Hobby Crafts, Crafts for Christmas, show coming to the SECC in Glasgow, October 27th-30th, and I am always excited to go and be a part of the hustle and bustle and meet friends, old and new, to say hello. The anticipation of discovering a new product and getting new ideas never fades for me. For now, my friends, it's time to go cook...again! Until next time, take care and Happy Crafting x

Birthday Card

This card was made with love - it's for my Mum's 84th Birthday on 3rd October. Whilst she is a constant source of encouragement in my work, she has made it crystal clear that she's "not keen" on "those paper flower thingy's" on my cards...lol! So, this one's just for you, Mum, and not a "paper flower thingy" in sight... Made using backgrounds from MCS Opulent cd , pearlised card and Spellbinder dies: (layers - Grand Labels One, sentiment tags and accents - Twisted Metal Accents and Tags). I toned the sentiment text tag with a Distress Ink pad (Tumbled Glass) and added crystal gems to complete the design.

New Samples and more...

Hello, everyone, Just a quick post to let you all know that there are lots of new sample designs in the pipeline..when will you see them?...I couldn't possibly say...lol! Suffice to say I am incredibly busy, but thoroughly enjoying creating them. My latest purchaes have arrived this morning, yippee! : Spellbinder dies : Grand Labels Twenty Three- just stunning and reminds me a little of The Glitter Girls embossing board Tall Stories - check it out and watch for it on my upcoming samples. Jem's Designs cd : Clearly Bowed from The Lady Jane Collection. I am new to these designs and I believe this to be an early one, but it is absolutely lush and I can't wait to have a play when time allows. The latest cd from this stable is Spellbound and I will be ordering it in the very near future as they provide an excellent service and free p&p. Check them out on their website www.jemsdesigns.co.uk Well worth a visit if you like ethereal, fantasy or punk images and there is also a group page on Facebook "Jem's Designs" that you can join on request. I hope you are all enjoying the same sunshine that we have here in Ayrshire today - what a change from the past two days when Winter visited us with a vengeance in the guise of the tale end of Hurricane Katia. I trust that those who experienced it have survived intact! Anyway, I must get back to my desk and get to work, so Happy Crafting to you all, Sheenagh x

Friday 9 September 2011

Hello, everyone, on this rather lovely Friday afternoon in the West Coast of Scotland,

I am so thrilled by the response to my new blog - crafters are definately the most generously kind people on God's good earth!
I have now uploaded a few more of my recent cards and I hope you like looking at them and perhaps even glean some inspiration for your own cards from them - that's perfectly okay by me as long as they are not reproduced in their entirety. If you hadn't already guessed, I'm passionate about my cardmaking, and always appreciate feedback on my creations.
Although this blog is set up to showcase my work, I am happy to take enquiries about any of the cards you see on here, and whilst I try never to repeat a card exactly, I am happy to oblige with specific requirements wherever I can.  I pride myself on high quality, good finishing and attention to detail, so please don't hesitate to contact me, either on here or by personal message on facebook.
I am also happy to help newcomers to craft and if you have any questions that you feel I could help with, again, please contact me.
Wishing you a very happy weekend and happy crafting!

My First Post

Hello everyone, and welcome to my Blog!
This is my first post and , indeed, venture into the world of "blogging", so please bear with me as I meander through the trials and tribulations of experimentation on here...I'm sure to hear if I don't get it right!
By way of introduction, I am Sheenagh Hulin, and I have been cardmaking for over 8 years now. My inspiration comes from colours, shapes and textures, and whilst I have been coached and mentored in stamping and all things crafting in the past, I feel I have found my niche in cd crafting. My essential tools now include a huge cd resource library, a Grand Calibur and a Cricut Expression and Gypsy - my Grand Calibur having turned out to be my most favourite machine in the whole wide world...lol!
I am priviliged to be on the Design Teams for My Craft Studio and Crafty Catz Craft cd's - what a joy to be doing something I love with products I love!
As I learn more about it, i hope to share my creations with you on here, and I do hope you like them.
Perhaps, you'll let me know...
