Well, good evening, everyone. I'd like to share this card with you that I've made today for my Mum on Mother's Day....I'd love to know what you think of it, please.
I haven't stamped for a few years now, and certainly never with polymer or acrylic stamps, so this is a bit of a FIRST for me in several ways.
My dear hubby bought me a Craft Dragon for Valentine's Day so I set it up last night for the FIRST time to use with stamping my FIRST Inkylicious Polymer stamp and Adirondack Cranberry Ink pad. I must admit to having a few attempts before the ink settled but so far, so good!
Next I cut it using Spellbinder die - Labels Twenty - and then for the FIRST time ever, I used my new Ink Duster Blending Brush with Distress Inks - Tattered Rose and Victorian Velvet - to colour the edges whilst the die was still in place. I find I am so loving this technique - where have I been...the moon?
Anyway, I then printed a background from MCS Floriography cd out twice on Cryogen White card from Craft Creations and then cropped a section in MCS graphics programme to give a matching self colour for printing on to the reverse of both background pages. I then cut the card shape using Spellbinder - Grand Labels One - once on folded card for the easel base and once again on single card for the front panel. I embossed the front panel using Spellbinders Impressabilities - Butterfly Garden - which I then sanded back lightly. I inked all edges of the card panel with Distress Ink - Victorian Velvet - to give definition.
Now I am a huge Spellbinders fan, but for the FIRST time I bought a couple of Marianne Creatable dies and a couple of delicious Memory Box dies while I was at the Hobbycrafts Show in Glasgow last Thursday, so this card gave me the perfect excuse to use the Memory Box die - La Rue Flourish - and I just adore the intricacy and fine details of it as an accent on my card. I actually wasn't too happy with the first one I cut so I cut another and then used part of the first one as an embellishment under the flower.
I printed text on a piece of the self coloured background card and cut using Spellbinder die - Fancy Tags Two - which I then ink dusted again to use as a sentiment stopper on the base of the card.
